Copeland Furniture has been producing wood products and furniture since 1976. They have gradually grown over the years from a one man shop to the largest employer in the small town of Bradford, Vermont producing high quality furniture.
STANDARD FINISH IS GREENGUARD CERTIFIED – uses a post-catalyzed conversion varnish that is GREENGUARD certified for low chemical emissions as the standard finish on all of our products. GREENGUARD certification is a testing program of UL (Underwriters Laboratory) focusing on the issue of indoor air quality.
WE USE SUSTAINABLY HARVESTED HARDWOODS FROM THE AMERICANNORTHERN FOREST –
The lumber we use comes from the American Northern Forest, much of it within 500 miles of our factory, consuming less energy in transporting raw material to the factory.
Greenington’s president and founder was manufacturing high quality bamboo products for over twenty years before he entered the business of creating his own line of high quality solid bamboo furniture in 2004. Because of his expertise in working with the planet’s most eco-friendly, rapidly renewable resource, Greenington’s fine bamboo furniture has quickly risen to the top of the industry, known for its enduring beauty, style and quality.
Greenington is all about choices. Choices regarding the finish options for many of our classic bamboo collections, such as our natural Caramelized finish which resembles a nice warm honey tone or Sable with its deep rich and somewhat exotic hints of reddish brown. And then there’s our Mocha and Black Walnut finishes for that truly contemporary look.
We also offer choices for some of our more limited exotic bamboo pieces that include our standard caramelized exotic finish which resembles a rich tropical hardwood. That dark exotic material is blended with our lighter more natural blonde exotic material, giving us our exotic Tiger finish. Both offer a ‘must see to appreciate’ experience.
Urban Woods is the leading designer of sustainable furniture from reclaimed wood, eco-friendly materials and environmentally conscious manufacturing processes. All woods are reclaimed from local sources in Los Angeles, reducing forest clear cutting, landfill use and air pollution. No trees are harmed in the manufacturing of this product. The distinct beauty of reclaimed wood, finished with rich water based, non-toxic stains, is preserved in handmade furniture and made in Los Angeles, California.
Our exclusive use of vintage reclaimed wood has many advantages; the grain of the timber with its tight growth rings shows the superior density of the wood from ancient trees, and the natural, aged patina and color of the old-growth timber is preserved in the manufacturing process, giving the furniture a look and feel that can not be replicated in new wood.
Much of the reclaimed wood was originally harvested and milled 50 to 100 years ago, and has been seasoned in sunny Southern California for decades, giving the wood unparalleled stability and resistance to future distortion or structural movement.
Proud to be Maine woodworkers since 1975
We have a saying up here, “Maine, the way life should be.” We like to think it captures the way we approach both living and running our business. Some people might call us old fashioned but we believe in doing things the right way, or not at all. Our mission has always been to produce quality, solid hardwood American Made bedroom furniture, at an affordable price. For over 40 years we have worked hard to keep true to our mission. Today our customers tell us this is more important than ever.
Our craftspeople are proud of
the work they do and it shows. We use only the finest hardwoods in all of our bed frames and furniture, most of which is harvested and milled in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Our cabinetry features dovetail corner construction on all drawers, and our finishes are of the highest standard.
We are also aware of the environmental responsibilities of a manufacturer. We use only solid wood to make our furniture. The by-products are sawdust and scrap wood. Our sawdust is used by local farmers as animal bedding and our scrap wood is used to heat many Maine homes. Very little waste goes into the landfill.
Many of our customers are also looking for a healthier alternative when furnishing their homes. Our solid wood furniture contains no formaldehyde and we offer a water-based clear finish which offers a low VOC alternative. Of course all of our furniture is also available unfinished.
