Green Dwellers specializes in all Natural Latex mattresses (made from the sap of the Rubber Tree) and traditional innerspring mattresses completely free of insecticides and fire retardant chemicals that contain carcinogens. Everything from mattresses to pillows to bamboo-blend bedding is made from 100% certified organic cotton, grown without the use of toxic pesticides. Green Dwellers also sells beautiful platform beds made from reclaimed wood and “kirei” agricultural by-product (Tampa location). 
Green Dwellers is not a traditional mattress store – it is a natural and organic mattress and bedding boutique that seeks to make an educated and informed buyer out of each one of their customers. What you will get at Green Dwellers is honest, fact-based information, without the hard sell approach like you’ll get from department and chain stores.
The first and only of its kind in Florida, Green Dwellers first opened in July 2008 in Plantation, Florida offering more environmentally sustainable options to those seeking products that are healthier for themselves, their families and the planet. The primary goal of Green Dwellers is to educate the consumer and be the one source for all natural and organic bedding.
About the Owner
Owner and entrepreneur Mylene, whose husband is the first attorney in Florida accredited by the US Green Building Council as a LEED accredited professional, came up with the concept after many dinner table conversations with her husband about the benefits of sustainable building.
As a wife and mother of two, Mylene looked into finding ways to improve her home environment by incorporating healthier, more environmentally sustainable home goods free of toxic chemicals into their lifestyle. She then realized there was something missing in the local market; a place where consumers could learn about what they can do to begin to live more environmentally responsible in small ways as well as see and touch these products. “For me, Green Dwellers is not just a business, it’s a community service. I don’t just sell organic mattresses; I sell sleep and provide a better quality of life. That’s why I go above and beyond to bring you the best products out there. Like you, I am concerned about my health and the health of my family”.
With a background in interior decorating and fashion merchandising, Mylene realized there was an opportunity to help people incorporate healthier “green living” principles to the inside of their homes where people spend a significant amount of time exposed to toxins, allergens, and the like. Thus the idea for Green Dwellers was born.
